We came here today and it's closed. Even though on their site it says open. Called and left a message but nothing

    UPDATE:
Someone had called me back the next day and stated they did not get my message u til the next day. They had shut down due to an emergency or because it was some sort of holiday? I can't remember but I can not wait to go in and try the food. I will update after I do.

The best of any Italian food in Michigan. Go there and see Tony T eating pasta off his belly and lap. Service is very good as long as you are not eating with the police chief and the son of a goomba. There are an assortment of pasta dishes and heavy set eye talians. Get a canolee and watch your waist expand from a 44-52.
    The spaghetti...fugetaboutit!
The soups are too die for you!
Go there and be a Sicilian for the day!

The location of this restaurant is in Southwest Detroit, close to Deerborn. It shares a building with what appears to be a factory. Nonetheless when you enter the restaurant it's dimly lit and reminds me of an old-fashioned steakhouse from the 1970s. In a good way though!. Our waitress was very polite and did a very good job.
My wife ordered the sautéed shrimp with risotto appetizer, which is basically large fresh shrimp sautéed with herbs and it's placed a top of homemade risotto with cheese it's very delicious
We had the calamari as well which was delicious.
There are pasta is house made , which I ordered the angel hair pasta with Bolognese sauce which was very good. My wife ordered the veal lamb chop bone in, with morel mushroom sauce, which had tons of morel mushrooms and was fantastic.
I highly recommend this place and I cannot wait to return

THE BEST. Service was great- Filetto and Halibut were like butter.  Celebrated a birthday and anniversary and were made to feel very special. Expensive but worth it!

Day before Mother's Day was crazy everywhere. GIOVANNI's service did not slip one iota.  Outstanding service and food. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meals. In a group of 5 adults having 5 different things it says A LOT about the food if nobody experienced order-regret or meal-envy. The meal was very expensive, especially for the area. So my only wish they were a little more transparent about added costs for adding a meatball to an entree. Attached are 2 pix of our very delicious meals!
